Non-Surgical Facial Enhancement

Traditional cosmetic surgery techniques are larger procedures designed to create dramatic improvement and correct any asymmetry or non-ideal shape and proportion. In many of these patients, this dramatic reduction in perceived age coexists with tell-tale signs of these procedures that are obvious to the casual observer. Examples include the “wind tunnel” look after a face lift, the hollowed out look of the eyes after a blepharoplasty, and the over-lifted eyebrows resulting from a brow lift.

At Dr. Bradley’s office, our techniques create significant improvement and rejuvenation, however the changes appear natural and do not create the obvious tell-tale signs of cosmetic surgery. Our approach centers on identifying the age defining feature(s) of a person’s appearance and selecting minimally invasive, local anesthesia procedures to correct those features and create more youthful appearance. Our approach evolved over a decade and began with developing an understanding of the aging process and how our appearance is perceived by others around us.

Correction of the Jowls

Experiencing a common phenomenon of facial ageing? Specifically droopiness and heaviness of the jowls?

As our face ages, we lose facial fat volume, supportive elastic tissues and loss of skin tone and elasticity. All three of these forces conspire to result in a droopiness of the cheeks and jowls. Jowls then are a descending collection of skin, fat and soft tissue that overly the jaw line disrupting the smooth and youthful jaw line appearance that is usually desirable. Injectable fillers, such as Radiesse, can be used to restore the contour of the jawline and fill the depression caused along the jaw from early jowling. In addition to defining and sculpting the jawline, adding filler to this area can help alleviate some of the sagging affecting the lower portion of the face.

Radiesse Volumizing Filler is designed to provide a scaffold under the skin giving immediate correction with results that are long lasting by stimulating natural collagen growth.

Radiesse Volumizing Filler has been proven to:
  • Immediately replenish lost volume and stimulate natural collagen production
  • Results that last a year or more in many patients
  • Provides higher patient satisfaction than patients treated with other leading wrinkle fillers

Side effects or complications are rare, although some of the more common ones are bruising, swelling, and redness at the injection sites. These effects are all temporary and generally, short-lived. You’ll be able to see immediate improvement after your in-office treatment with Dr. Bradley.

Earlobe Contouring

One of the most common types of procedures for the ear is the Earlobe Contouring (repair of torn earlobes).  Having your ears pierced or wearing heavy earrings can stretch and alter the skin on the earlobe. Earlobe repair is an ear surgery that corrects torn earlobes, piercing holes that have turned into slots like buttonholes, and stretched skin on the earlobe. Earlobe skin can change over time like skin on the rest of your body. Gauge piercings can leave large holes in the ears. Heavy earrings, especially combined with long hours against a telephone, can stretch the piercing, or even tear through the margin of the earlobe. Cutting a small notch on the torn lobe then meticulously stitching the lobe back together is generally how this procedure is performed. Those patients wanting to re-pierce the lobe can do so after about 6 weeks.

The psychological benefit following earlobe contouring can often surpass a patients’ expectation. Dr. Bradley would love to meet with you to answer other questions you may have and further explain the procedure in a consultation. A consultation will allow you to make an informed decision if this procedure is right for you.

Madonna Eye Lift

Are you concerned about dark rings under the eyes, wrinkled and loose skin of the upper and lower eyelids? Are your eyebrows beginning to droop and make you look sad all the time? If so, the Madonna Lift may be just the thing for you.

Using the latest fractional laser resurfacing technology, Dr. Bradley is trained to implement this new procedure which is safe and effective with minimal downtime. It takes away dark rings and wrinkles, tightens upper and lower eyelid skin and helps to elevate drooping eyebrows. It has a good number of the benefits of a surgical eyelift without the risks and downtime. The only problem it doesn’t address is bulging fat pads. As metal eye shields are used during the procedure, there is no risk of injury to the eyes. Only a numbing cream is applied to the eyelids for anesthesia and three to five sessions are recommended at 2-3 week intervals.

With fractional laser resurfacing, the laser beam is broken into microscopic columns of laser light. When the beams strike, they leave normal surrounding skin areas intact so the outcome is very quick healing. These columns of laser light take away (or ablate) old, damaged collagen and elastic fibers so that new fresh tissue can grow into these channels. As this occurs, wrinkles and pigmentation are removed, skin tightens and the eyelids are rejuvenated. A recent study in over 300 patients showed consistent and very impressive results.

Remove Your Double Chin with Kybella®

If you want to get rid of the fat below your chin without having cosmetic surgery, consider Kybella®. It is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat calls in the area under the chin to improve your profile. Kybella® is a safe option, available by prescription only and must be given by, or under the supervision of a doctor. Kybella® effectively removes fat under your chin, leaving a smooth jawline without the lengthy recovery time of other treatments like liposuction or neck lift surgery.

The active ingredient in Kybella® is a chemical known as synthetic deoxycholic acid. It is a molecule that naturally occurs in the body and helps break down and absorb of dietary fat. When put into the fat under your chin, Kybella® destroys the fat cells. The result is a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once those fat cells are destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is typically not necessary once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

The most common side effects of Kybella® treatment include redness, pain, swelling, numbness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area.

eMatrix Radio Frequency

eMatrix radio frequency is an FDA-cleared treatment that treats acne scars, brown spots, and wrinkles of the face and neck. The number of eMatrix treatment sessions needed depends on the amount of type of damage addressed. eMatrix improves skin texture, tightens loose skin, and minimizes the appearance of mild to moderate wrinkles, acne scars, and abdominal stretch marks. It also works to brighten and rejuvenate the skin and tighten pores.

Unlike other, more aggressive laser treatments designed to eliminate lesions deeply embedded in the skin, eMatrix radio frequency minimally affects the skin’s surface layer as it smoothes wrinkles, scars and firms sagging skin. It is a safe and effective type of laser treatment that can be used on all skin types and colors.

During eMatrix treatment, heat is generated under the surface of the skin for about twenty minutes. Acne scars and mild to moderate wrinkles are reduced, and skin becomes smoother and more elastic. Downtime is about 48 hours with mild roughness remaining for 3 to 5 days.  Results continue over three to five months after the final treatment.

Thread Lift

If you’ve been thinking a facelift but are reluctant to go under the knife, a PDO thread lift may be a good option for you. A PDO thread lift is a type of minimally invasive facelift, which uses injectable threads. There is no cutting involved. PDO threading is a great way remove sagging skin and banish any signs of a sagging neck.

Available for years overseas in Europe and Asia, PDO threading is now catching on in Fort Lauderdale. We use Nova threads, tiny hypodermic needles preloaded with PDO absorbable sutures. It’s a painless, relatively quick procedure, with an immediate effect. However, even better results appear in a few months.

What is PDO Threading?

PDO stands for polydioxanone, a synthetic material long used in open-heart surgery. PDO threads were developed to dissolve within the body over time. There is no scarring associated with the use of the Nova thread needles.

How It Works

A tiny needle is placed beneath the skin with PDO threads, and pulled tight, resulting in a natural uplift. Patients require only local anesthesia. Dr. Valentina Bradley puts the needles in the upper layers of the skin, reducing the risk of serious bruising. The procedure lasts about an hour, although it varies by the treatment size of the area.

Possible Side Effects

PDO thread lift side effects are typically mild and temporary. They include:

  • Bruising
  • Numbness
  • Swelling
