In youth one has well-balanced and proportionate facial volumes along with smooth facial contours. The lips are full, cheekbones are prominent, the area under the eyes is soft and the face is wrinkle-free. As we age, the soft tissue of the face thins and the skin slowly wrinkles, skin loses elasticity and begins to lax, and the lips thin and wrinkle.
Facial Fillers were created to fill and smooth out those deeper wrinkles, especially ones created by lose of volume and facial expressions that occurs during the aging process. Facial Fillers add volume, support and padding to the face for a younger more youthful appearance. Injected underneath the skin — right underneath the wrinkle itself —add volume to the area under the skin to plump out the collapsed skin and reduce the deep wrinkle.
The upper third of the face is the area we express most of our emotions. The dynamic interplay of the muscles of the forehead and around the eyes create a variety of expressions for sadness, disappointment, surprise, glee, confusion, anger, pain, fear and more.
As we age, the forehead elongates and the brows begin to descend. Many people unconsciously compensate for this by holding their eye brows in an elevated position. This eventually results in horizontal forehead wrinkles. Other expressions such as squinting or frowning generate both vertical and horizontal creases of the forehead and the glabella (area above the nose and between the eye brows) areas. When properly administered, Botox temporarily weakens these muscles so they are no longer capable to create the offending expression causing the wrinkles. When these muscles weaken, the overlying wrinkles soften significantly.
Botox Cosmetic®, commonly just called Botox, and its generic counterparts Xeomin and Dysport are non-surgical injectables that treat the forehead, glabella and crow’s feet (outer aspect of the eyes, also called laugh lines). Botox, manufactured by Allergan, is the most common solution used as it has been proven to be effective, safe and, when properly mixed by the physician, longest lasting.
Unlike the majority of offices offering Botox treatments, board certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Bradley administers all Botox treatments to her patients. There is an excellent patient satisfaction rate to Botox treatments. Botox injections are usually repeated every 3-6 months to maintain effectiveness, and repeated Botox injections have been shown result in the best softening of wrinkles.

Why consider BOTOX Cosmetic?
Botulinum toxins are biologics, a type of purified protein. Since biologics are made from living things, they are unique. So, even if a botulinum toxin product has the same ingredients as another, they may not have the same effect. Because biologics have a complex structure, it is difficult to recreate a product without knowing exactly how it’s made (which is specific to each manufacturer). That’s why the amount of the dose (unit dosing) and formulations are different between products. Be sure to ask Dr. Bradley if BOTOX Cosmetic is right for you.
“BOTOX treatments are a quick, 10 minute procedure that requires no downtime or recovery — It’s a quick procedure that I can actually do over the lunch hour.”
With a few injections, BOTOX Cosmetic blocks nerve impulses to the muscles in your forehead called the “corrugator” and “procures” muscles reducing their movement. This decreased muscle activity helps lessen the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows for real, noticeable results.
As we age, our skin changes. This is due to a reduction in the production of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). This results in wrinkles and folds, (similar to parenthesis) which are lines around the mouth.
Whether it is lines, wrinkles, or depressed scars that need to be eliminated, replacing lost collagen provides volume and shape to the face. Juvederm instantly smoothes these wrinkles and can give the patient fuller lips, plumper cheek bones, and can also help smooth chin wrinkles. Juvederm instantly smoothes out these wrinkles, replaces the vital HA that the skin has lost, and brings back this lost volume. This produces results everyone will notice, but the results will look completely natural.
Juvederm XC gel filler usually requires just a single treatment to provide smoother and natural-looking skin. The results may last up to one year after treatment. During the treatment, the patient does not face any serious discomfort because the gel is infused with lidocaine. As with any injection, bruising is possible. Juvederm Ultra XC is used for fine lines and for plumping lips. The Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is used for deeper folds, cheek voluminizing, and lifting the skin. All skin phototypes have been tested with Juvederm injectable gel, therefore both men and women can enjoy the benefits.
The most common side effects reported using Juvederm are; temporary injection site redness, tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, and bruising. Most of these side effects are moderate and last shorter than seven days. Dr. Bradley personally performs all dermal filler treatments, including the Juvederm XC treatment. This treatment has been used “off label” under the eyes to improve hollowing, however this must be done by an experienced injector to avoid having blue lumps appear under the eyes. Less is more when injecting near the eye area. If you have experienced these results, contact Dr. Bradley who can professionally remove these lumps by dissolving them with an enzyme called hylauronidase. This solution is quick and safe in experienced hands.

Facial fillers have come a long way since collagen was previously the only injectable. Radiesse® is an excellent way to reduce wrinkles by replenishing the lost volume of the skin. The Radiesse® Wrinkle Filler treatment induces the production of natural collagen in the skin to reduce the signs of aging. The results are almost instant. Dr. Bradley often uses Radiesse® to volumize cheeks and aged hands, as well as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and oral commissures.
The patient does not have to undergo much discomfort during the treatment because Radiesse® is mixed with lidocaine. Radiesse® wrinkle filler mixed with this numbing anesthetic significantly reduces pain during the treatment. Many patients prefer to opt for this treatment because of its advantages of comfort, convenience, and short duration of the treatment. Furthermore, the results can be seen immediately following the treatment. These reasons, apart from the effectiveness and natural looking results, make it a preferred treatment for many people. Different from creams and lotions, there is no waiting time to see these lasting results. Radiesse® wrinkle filler instantly plumps up the skin to smooth the signs of aging.
With just one syringe, Radiesse® can provide full correction. Post Radiesse® treatment, there is an increase of collagen growth which results in restoring the lost volume. Dramatic results can be achieved no matter how moderate or severe your wrinkle lines may be.
The skin rejuvenation lasts for a fairly long time after a single treatment. In most cases, the results may sustain for up to a year or more. Radiesse® is approved at this time for subdermal implantation. Valentina Bradley, M.D. performs this treatment personally for every patient. Confidence, youthfulness, and self esteem can be yours again with Radiesse® wrinkle filler. Contact Dr. Bradley to discuss your lost volume and how your own natural collagen can be replaced using Radiesse® wrinkle filler treatment.

Dr. Bradley personally performs Restylane treatment and tailors it according the specific needs of the patient. Results of the treatment are visible almost immediately.
